This remastered Bouguerau by digital artist Sassydeb was the first-prize winner in the Aviation Day contest on FreakingNews, in August 2008. Photoshoppers were invited to celebrate the National Aviation Day (August 19, the birthday of Orville Wright). Unfortunately, the contest coincided with a major airplane crash in Madrid, which cost the lives of over 150 people.

The winning entry is based on Bouguereau’s 1884 work Les Deux Baigneuses (The Two Bathers). Below you can compare the original and the remastered versions. Click each to see them in larger format.
