Bouguereau’s Olympic Beauties

olympic-javelin.jpg
The first modern Olympic Games took place in 1896, nine years before the death of William Bouguereau. Our famous friend got the Olympic spirit right from the start. On the eve of the Beijing Olympics, here are some of Bouguereau’s paintings (or maybe not his?) of sporting beauties on their way to Olympic Gold. Click each image to see the original artwork, and many other remastered versions.
