This lovely remastered Bouguerau depicts Australian actress Nicole Kidman as a new mother of baby girl Sunday. It was the winning entry in a News in Pictures contest on FreakingNews, in July 2008. The image was photoshopped by digital artist Hamid1976.

The original Charity painting dates from 1859. It’s shown below, together with the full 2008 New Mother. Click each for bigger.
